God’s Promise

Today we receive God’s promise of peace. Our Lord is all loving and wants for us to have the peace He offers us. Jesus said ask, seek, and knock and the door will be opened and He will be with us. As we reach out and share the peace of Christ with others He gives us peace. When we open our hearts to God, He gives us peace through His Holy Spirit and His Word, as we pray to Him and serve others with His love.

God’s Promise to You

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:6-9

Prayer for Today

Lord please help me to breathe out those thoughts that distract me from bringing my heart to you now and fill my thoughts with Your goodness and love.Thank you for giving me Your peace. I give you praise Almighty God and I know that you are all powerful. I ask that you fill me with hope and peace as I move forward with You today. In your name Jesus I pray. Amen.

Guard Your Heart

“Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.”
Proverbs 4:23

“Our heart - our feeling of love and desire - dictates to a great extent how we live because we always find time to do what we enjoy.  Solomon tells us to guard our heart above all else, making sure we concentrate on those desires that will keep us on the right path.  Make sure your affections push you in the right direction.  Put boundaries on your desires; don’t go after everything you see.  Look straight ahead, keep your eyes fixed on your goal, and don’t get sidetracked on detours that lead to sin.”

Live In Freedom

“...Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom...”
(2 Corinthians 3:17, NIV)
Live in Freedom
If you’re always thinking about something negative that happened yesterday, last month, last year, there’s no freedom there. That’s where the Spirit of the Lord was. This is a new day. Quit living in what was and come over into what is. Right now there is freedom, joy, peace, and restoration for you. Right now there are new beginnings. Remaining upset and offended about what happened yesterday doesn’t bring freedom. Living in regret of what you should have done or what could have been doesn’t do anything productive. It’s time to drop it and move forward. You may be a product of your past, but you don’t have to be a prisoner of your past. God already knew every hurt, every loss, and every mistake you would go through. The good news is that for every setback, He’s already arranged a comeback; for every disappointment, a new beginning; for every failure, restoration; for all the ashes, He has beauty. Live in freedom.

God’s Rainbow

In this sinful world God promises to protect you from the evil one. Even when sufferings happen remember God promises to help you and you will overcome. Whenever you see a rainbow think about God’s awesomeness, remember He’s always near, and trust and have faith in the Lord.

Accept Good From God

“Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?
Job: 2:10

“Many people think that believing in God protects them from trouble, so that when calamity comes, they question God’s goodness and justice.  But the message of Job is that you should not give up on God because he allows you to have bad experiences.  Faith in God does not guarantee personal prosperity, and lack of faith does not guarantee troubles in this life.  If this were so, people would believe in God simply to get rich.  God is capable of rescuing us from suffering, but he may also allow suffering to come for reasons we cannot understand.  It is Satan’s strategy to get to us to doubt God at exactly this moment.  Here Job shows a perspective broader than seeking his own personal comfort.  If we always knew why we were suffering, our faith would have no room to grow.”

Pray More

“Notice the order in this prayer.  First Jesus praised God; then he made his requests.  Praising God first puts us in the right frame of mind to tell him about our needs.  Too often our prayers are more like shopping lists than conversations.  These verses focus on three aspects of prayer; it’s content, our persistence, and God’s faithfulness.”
