God of All Comfort

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble with
the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“Many think that when God comforts us, our troubles will go away.  Being comforted can also mean receiving strength, encouragement, and hope to deal with our troubles.  The more we suffer, the more comfort God gives us.  If you are feeling overwhelmed, allow God to comfort you.  Remember that every trial you endure will help you comfort other people who are suffering similar troubles.”

The Rule of Peace

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, ...”
Colossians 3:17

“Paul tells us to let Christ’s peace be umpire or referee in our hearts.  Our hearts are the center of conflict because there our feelings and desires clash - our fears and hopes, distrust and trust, jealousy and love.  How can we deal with these constant conflicts and live as God wants?  Paul explains that we must decide between conflicting elements by using the rule of peace - which choice will promote peace in our souls?”

Seasons of Life

“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11

You might not know...
King David’s son Solomon wrote the book of Ecclesiastes and the Bible says that he was the wisest man alive.

What does it say?
Life is made up of many different seasons. And not just seasons like winter, spring, summer, and autumn. Different seasons of life for different emotions and different responsibilities.

What does it mean?
The Lord created different seasons in our lives to shape us, help us deal, and create us into who He intended us to be. He uses seasons to show us that He is good and can “make everything beautiful for its own time” (verse 11). Seasons (good and bad) are ways for God to capture our hearts and our faith.

What does it mean to me?
God will change the season of life I'm in when He's ready to change something about me. There are some more difficult seasons, but The Lord just wants me to trust Him through each & every season. No matter what kind of season I'm going through, I can remember that God always promises to make it beautiful in His time.

Just Believe

“Don’t be afraid, just believe.”
Mark 5:36

“Jairus’s crisis made him confused, afraid, and without hope.  Jesus’ words to Jairus in the midst of crisis speak to us as well:  “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”  In Jesus there is both hope and promise.  The next time you feel hopeless and afraid, look at your problem from Jesus’ point of view.  Then don’t be afraid; just have faith.”
