Take Heart

“... be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Psalm 27:14

“Waiting for God is not easy.  Often it seems that he isn’t answering our prayers or doesn’t understand our urgency of our situation.  That kind of thinking implies that God is not in control or is not fair.  But God is worth waiting for.  Lamentations 3:24-26 calls us to hope in and wait for the Lord because often God uses waiting to refresh, renew, and teach us.  Make good use of your waiting times by discovering what God may be trying to teach in them.”

The Spirit God Gave Us

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid,
but gives us power, love and self discipline.”

“When you use the gifts God has given you, you will find that God will find that God will give you the power you need to accomplish whatever task he gives you.”

“When we allow people to intimidate us, we neutralize our affective ness for God.  The power of the Holy Spirit can help us overcome our fear of what some might say or do to us, so that we can continue to do God’s work.”

Choose Happy

“The Lord is my strength and shield.  I trust him with all
my heart.  He helps me, and my heart
is filled with joy.  I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”
Psalm 28:7

When you study Bible verses about happiness, a few things stand out. First, we can have inner happiness even when we are in difficult situations. Everything doesn't have to be right in your world for you to experience the feeling of being happy. If you keep your eye on the bigger picture, it's easier to rise above the trials and tribulations of life and still find reasons to be happy. If you keep your focus on God and eternity, it is easier to experience happiness even in challenging times.

In John 10:10, Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." We are not meant to merely make it through life. We are supposed to live a life to the fullest. What does that look like? It's happy and joyful. We are not supposed to simply be alive in the sense that our heart is beating, and we have breath in our lungs. We are supposed to have a life that we enjoy.
