Come To Me

 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you
and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11:28-29

This is an invitation by the one and only Jesus. If you’re tired and struggling, He can give you rest. This also describes the path to God the Father, but it is not one of labor and hard work. Following Jesus frees us from carrying the burden of our own sin because He has already done that work.

All we need to do is put our faith, hope, and trust in Jesus. To take His yoke is to commit to Him and put ourselves under the protection and authority of Christ.

Finding Refuge in God

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings
you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your protective shield.”
Psalm 91:4

“But God has promised to cover us with His love and care, and provide refuge under His wings, and His faithfulness is a shield for all who trust in Him. He has promised to keep our life from all harm and danger, to protect our minds from discouragement and despair, and to safeguard our hearts with His perfect peace. What tremendous security is ours by right - for we are accepted in the Beloved, kept under His protective wings.”

Hallelujah!!!

 “God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall
not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

“One of the beautiful things butterflies can remind us of is the birth, death, and resurrection of Christ. Just as butterflies are, Jesus was born, then he died on a cross for us and was buried in the tomb.

This is similar to the cocoon phase for the caterpillar. Remember that when Jesus was in the tomb, the world and even his disciples thought nothing was happening in that grave, just like the cocoon, and that Jesus was gone forever.

Yet, hallelujah, in that grave dramatic changes were taking place, just as they do for the butterfly, but for Jesus, this was a spiritual change in the heavenly

realm.”

Trust and Not Be Afraid

 “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid;
   for the Lord God is my strength and salvation and song.”
Isaiah 12:2

When life’s running smoothly and all is well with us and our loved ones, we have no trouble being content and trusting God. But when situations become difficult, our peace is rapidly replaced by stress and anxiety. So what do we do?

We must remember that no matter how we feel, the One who rules the universe remains sovereign over all things, down to the smallest detail. He loves us unconditionally and always works for our best interest. Therefore, if He has allowed a situation, we can trust there is a divine plan and reason for whatever comes our way. It isn’t always easy, especially when we are facing loss or danger, but Scripture assures us that God is more than adequate to sustain us.

So when difficulty hits, don’t lose sight of who God is or who you are in Him. In those moments, make Isaiah’s words your own: “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and song” (Isaiah 12:2).

Just Ask

 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God;
 that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
1 John 5:14

“The emphasis here is on God’s will.  When we communicate with God, we don’t demand what we want; rather we discuss with him what he wants for us.  If we align our prayers to his will, he will listen and we can be certain that if he listens, he will give us a definite answer.  Start praying with confidence!

Our Only Hope

 “Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope
comes from him.  Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.”
Psalm 62:5-6

In tough and uncertain times, it can be difficult to look beyond what’s currently happening in your life and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Whether you’re going through a big life change, a hard time for your family, or personal health concerns, an optimistic frame of mind can help you see a difficult challenge as an opportunity for gratitude. When you’re feeling low, try to find the silver linings in your hardships.

As the flowers start to bloom and the sun stays out a little longer, we’re reminded that spring is the ultimate time of renewal, when we can really reset ourselves through Lent and spiritually prepare ourselves for the year ahead. The Bible is a great place to find scripture that sparks hopefulness.
