Calms the Storm

...the storm subsided, and all was calm.
“Where is your faith?
he asked his disciples.”

“When caught in the storms of life, it is easy to think God has lost control and that we’re all in the mercy of the winds of fate.  In reality, God is sovereign.  He controls the history of the world as well as our personal destinies.  Just as Jesus calmed the waves, he can calm whatever storms you may have.”

Rest Not Worry

“Observe the Sabbath, because it is
Holy to you.”  Exodus 31:14

“The Sabbath had two purposes: It was a time to rest and a time to remember what God had done.  We need rest.  Without time out from the bustle, life loses its meaning.  In our day, as in Moses’ day, taking time out is not easy.  But God reminds us that without Sabbaths we will forget the purpose for all our activity and lose the balance crucial to a faithful life.  Make sure your Sabbath provides a time of both refreshment and remembrance of God.”

Don’t Lose Heart

Don’t lose heart. It’s not over. “Where there is life, there is hope.”And we have much more than just life, we have God on our side – God is for usGod is with us; & God’s got your back! So please, keep your head up, always fixing your eyes on God. Don’t lose heart – It all ends well! Verses below.
2 Corinthians 4:16, ESV So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:17, NLT For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!
Galatians 6:9, NASB Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
John 14:27, ESV Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
John 16:33, NIV “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

God-Given Talents

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Ephesians 2:10

“A talent is something that you are instinctively born with that gives you unique skills and abilities.  Talent is set apart from knowledge in that it is not a learned behavior, although it can be strengthened and practiced.  The Bible tells us that we are all born with distinct talents and gifts that set us apart from each other.  When you discover the talents that God has given you and you use them to glorify Him, you will experience a full life!  Our loving Lord wants you to feel whole and complete, and it is through talents that we can find our unique calling in life!”

“Your talent is God’s gift to you and what you do
with it is your gift back to God.”

Listen Closely

“…I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you...”
(Psalm 32:8, NIV)
Listen Closely and Follow
Many times we don’t realize that God is speaking to us. We feel an impression on the inside, a prompting to be good to someone. That’s not random. That’s God talking to us. Or, maybe you’re in a situation where you feel an uneasiness. Something says, “It’s not right. Stay away.” That’s not just your nerves. It’s God protecting you. Don’t ignore it, don’t talk yourself out of it; just obey. If you’ll follow that still, small voice, God says He will guide you along the best path for your life. If we’re listening to His still, small voice—the promptings, the suggestions, the alarms—He will save us from heartache and pain. He’ll lead us into promotion and favor. Too often we feel these impressions on the inside, but we dismiss them as not making sense, or override or overanalyze them. Don’t talk yourself out of it. Just obey. Anytime you obey, a blessing will always follow.

Peace With Yours Scars

“As he spoke, he showed the wounds in his hands and his side.
They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord.”
John 20:20

Be at Peace with Your Scars
We all carry invisible scars that come from inner wounds—perhaps from a divorce, from what somebody did, from a mistake we made, from a loss. So often we try to hide our scars. They remind us of the hurt. But you can be at peace with your scars. Those scars are your testimony; they tell your story. Instead of being depressed over what you’ve been through, have a new perspective—the enemy tried to stop you, but God brought you through it, healed you, and you have a scar to prove it. The scars can remind you of His grace and power.
Jesus’ back was lashed with thirty-nine stripes and His hands and feet and side were pierced. When He rose from the dead, you would think He would be perfectly restored, but He still had scars. This was significant. God could have taken them away. Maybe, in part, it was to show us that it’s okay to have scars.

God’s Plan For Us

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
As you get older, you begin to have more and more people ask you questions like “what do you want to do with your life?” and “what are your long-term goals?” These questions can cause a great deal of anxiety if you aren’t quite sure that the future holds for you. You want to follow God’s plan for you but you might still be unsure of what that is. Really no matter your age this is something that almost all Christians struggle with.
How do you go about discovering God’s plan for your life? There are several vital keys that will help you discover His Will. By connecting with God, trusting in Him completely, and surrendering yourself to Him He will begin to reveal the path He has for you.
- Ask Him
- Listen For Cues
- Be Patient
- Follow Him

- Learn About Yourself
- Look at Your Circumstances
The next time you begin to stress out about what God wants you to do with your life, take a deep breath and cast your anxiety on Him.  Pause and pray until you hear His voice come through.  God has a great path planned for your life; we just have to trust Him to guide us there.
